19 Weeks!!

How Far Along: 19 weeks!

Weight Gain/Loss: +2 pounds (wtf....guess last weeks weight loss needed to be made up for...I probably shouldn't have eaten everything in site while I was in Austin visiting Jill<---check out this link to see what we did this weekend/pictures from it - we had an AWESOME time!)

Symptoms:
  • Leg Cramps
  • Back Pain
  • Nausea (but less)
  • Growing Pains

Baby Ru's Cravings:
  • Sweets (major chocolate craving last night though...and I definitely fulfilled it...oops)
  • Sushi
  • French Onion Soup

Baby Ru's Aversions:
  • Smell of trash
  • Smell of the dishwasher
  • Tuna

Maternity Clothes:
  • YES! I've been sporting my maternity shorts/capris all the time as well as some dresses. Luckily some of my dresses from before pregnancy still fit and will work for at least the next month I think. Good thing I like long, flowy dresses.
Movement:
  • I felt the first REAL KICK this week! Just a few days ago! I was laying in bed watching tv and had my hands on my stomach and all of a sudden I felt a nudge on the left side...followed by another just a tiny bit lower. It stopped for a few minutes and then I felt another little nudge, but that was it! I have yet to feel it again. :( I've been told that's completely normal though so I'm ok with it...as long as I can feel it again soon!
Gender:
  • We find out in exactly 1 week!!! I'm excited to find out. I'll be posting my "Boy or Girl?" blog this week so be on the look out and comment on it! Let me know if you think it will be a boy or girl based on my updates and pictures. :)
Belly Button In or Out:
  • In, although it got a tiny bit closer to the surface this week and kind of freaked me out! Haha. Supposedly my belly button should be an outtie (sp?) soon enough...
Thoughts:
  • The most thrilling part of the past week was definitely feeling the kicks although I wish the hubby could have felt it too. I ran in the room to tell him and he was excited, but he wanted to feel it and they stopped as soon as he got a chance. Note: he was playing Xbox Live so it took him a while to get into the room I was laying in to try and feel. He had to finish his game. Lol....figures ;)
  • Another thing I've been thinking about is my back pain. It has gotten progressively worse and worse, BUT I finally went to the doctor about it! Turns out one of the doctors in the office is a DO and that means he can do adjustments too. So of course I had him adjust me. He felt exactly where the pain was and did one adjustment and I heard it crack in about 30 places it seemed. I can go back in a week if its still acting up, but it should help...and I sure hope it does!!! Nobody should have to deal with the pain I was feeling.
  • I still can't believe its only one week away from knowing whether or not little Baby Ru is a girl or a boy!!! At the doctor's office, my nurse asked me how I was carrying. I stood up and she looked and said "BOY!" lol. She proceeded to tell me the "southern old wives tales" and said to let her know if she was right. Its funny she said that though because I'm only 19 weeks...and the uterus is still below my belly button.....so of course I'm carrying low! Haha. It was fun to hear someone guess though which is why I can't wait to hear what everyone guesses before our appointment next week. :)

  1. Don't you worry - the kicks will get stronger and will come more often very soon! Hubby felt the first one at 21 weeks and then for the next few weeks, some days I'd feel a lot and some days I'd hardly feel anything and it would only happen if I was laying down. Just over the past 3 days, I have felt the baby moving SO much more during the day - even when I'm not laying down. And now, we can even see the belly moving when he/she kicks.
