30 Weeks!

How Far Along:  30 weeks! Woohoo!

How Big is Baby:  Ava should be close to 16 inches in length now and about 3 pounds

Weight Gain/Loss:  Don't remind me...this week I apparently gained 3.5 pounds. I suppose its ok since I was gaining only half a pound the two weeks before...but I'm going to attribute the crazy gain to the fact that I'm a bit swollen and my little baby had a growth spurt. Yep, that's my story and I'm sticking to it. This week I gained .25 inches in my abdomen putting me at a total increase of 6.75 inches there. I feel like I gained a lot more than that though because my belly is just so hard and feels like its about stretched to its max...I'm certain its not though.

Symptoms:  

• A couple very small stretch marks on my boobs and by my butt
• Round Ligament Pains
• Braxton Hicks
• Back Pain

Cravings/Aversions:  I've been craving sweets and fruit still. No new aversions.

Movement:  Lots of kicks, punches, and squirming around in there. I've noticed that she "shakes" sometimes. I was a little worried at first, but I googled it (of course) and other women said they experienced the same thing and that their doctor said it was perfectly normal and the baby is just getting used to controlling movements more and more each day. I'm still going to ask my doctor today though. Have any of you had that feeling? PS - Its not hiccups...Ava gets those all the time...so don't try saying that's what it is. Its a completely different sensation. Kind of like she's having a seizure, but I'm certain she's not. 

Gender:  GIRL

Belly Button:  IN. Very much IN. Oh...and STRETCHED. Very much STRETCHED.

Sleep:  Last night I managed to sleep for a whole 4 1/2 hours before getting up to go pee. That had to be a record.

What I'm Looking Forward To:  I want to hear the doctor tell me how much he thinks she weighs. I know it can be wrong sometimes (I've heard stories), but just having them make an educated guess will be exciting to hear. I'm also looking forward to our crib getting here! Should be arriving in Des Moines any day now in which case we can get it down here to Arkansas and set up!

What I Miss:  Wine. This will never change. Seeing my feet without bending over to look. Being able to actually shave my legs comfortably (we won't even talk about the difficulty shaving anything else...) TMI? Ehh, get over it. Its the truth. 

How is Baby Laying:  Same as last week I think. I still feel the kicks in the same place, but I can't forget to ask my doctor today what he thinks!

Highlights of the Past Week:  Our cloth diaper sets came in yesterday! Like I said, we're only starting with 4 size adjustable covers and 12 size adjustable inserts because as a newborn we're starting her with disposables until we get the hang of things and are ready to gradually make the switch. Hopefully the cloth will work well, but if not we didn't want to buy too many. They are ADORABLE by the way, but even though they are adjustable for baby's size I can't help but think the small size is still not small enough. I won't know until she arrives though! I'm sure that by the time we are ready to make the switch from disposables to cloth the size will fit just fine! I've heard good things about these and nobody has made a negative comment about the size so I'll wait and see. :)
