How Far Along: 33 Weeks!
How Big is Baby: Ava should weigh a little over 4 pounds and be at least 17 inches long! WOW! I feel like I really have a baby in here now! She's starting to really pack on the pounds of fat now :) (just like her mommy...lol bummer)

Symptoms: Back pain, round ligament pains, swollen feet/ankles, some slight nausea in the mornings on occasion, nesting
Cravings/Aversions: Fruit is a huge craving (I've had a fruit salad the past couple days - much healthier than the other sweets I was craving) - PS - I've decided there will be NO baking of sweets this week. We have plenty of cake mixes and all that jazz, but with this weight gain being the way it has been the past month I want to avoid them as much as possible. This will help a lot.
Movement: Ava LOVES to kick my right side and get her little heel up in my rib. I think she tries to avoid it, but they just get in the way of her personal space. :) She sometimes moves a lot of her body to my right side so it looks all lopsided and its really weird and funny to see. She's got a bit of room in there still I think. Makes me believe she's still pretty little, but its so hard to tell. Only the Dr. will truly know.
Gender: BABY GIRL!
Belly Button: In still, but the hole is getting smaller and smaller as little Ava pushes it more outward. I'm thinking I won't end up with a "cute outtie", but more of a flat belly button. lol.
Sleep: Ehh...I go to bed late, wake up every 2-3 hours, and wake up late...I don't have too much to complain about except the back pain which can get in the way some nights. Nothing has really changed.
What I'm Looking Forward To: Losing this baby weight!!! I'm sure it will be a while though. I'm thinking I'm going to end up with a total weight gain of about 40 pounds. We'll keep our fingers crossed that it doesn't end up going over that.
What I Miss: Stepping on the scale and liking the number I see! Haha. I know its supposed to be a good thing to gain weight, but I just hate that they give you a recommended range when I fluctuate from the top of the recommended numbers to just over it. I feel like it makes me obsessed over that stupid range. I'm contemplating not weighing myself anymore til the end...but I'm sure I will anyway.
How is Baby Laying: Same as before. Head down, butt up, limbs to my right.
Highlights of This Past Week: Well, going back to Iowa was a nice little vacation for us. It was great seeing family and going to Iowa City to tailgate. It was also nice having Andrew's family feel Ava's hiccups! I love when other people can feel the movements and stuff. Its a neat thing. :) Also, Andrew is in a training class instead of work for the month of September so we've been getting to spend a lot more time together. I love it!

You're in the home stretch!! Hope the childbirth class goes well.
ReplyDeleteI was about 135 pounds when I got pregnant, and at exactly 40 week pregnant I was 180. So I gained about 45-50 lbs of pregnancy weight. Granted, Emmett was 9.8 lbs & his "inutero belongings" were about 9lbs, I still have a good 30 lbs or so to lose. It's really hard, especially since you go from eating constantly to make sure you aren't starving baby to wanting to barely eat anything. But I'm dieting hard during the week & being quite lax on the weekends, & I feel better about myself already. Though I'm not completely happy, it's getting better.
ReplyDeleteThe hardest thing to cope w/ isn't the extra belly fat, to be honest, it's the fact that your skin is all saggy & poochy looking. So, just remember, BATTLE SCARS are supposed to be worth the FIGHT! hahaha
