Hello people!
Great news! Andrew's dad brought the crib down here yesterday! I can't thank him enough for driving 10 hours here and 10 back just to do this. Andrew put it together last night. He did such a good job! :) Its a lifetime crib so it will last for many many years. We chose to leave the toddler rails back in Ankeny with Andrew's family because we obviously won't need them for a while and don't have any storage room. It will convert all the way up to a full size bed! The color matches our dresser PERFECT and we just love it soooo soooo much! THANK YOU to Andrew's parents for making this purchase for Ava! Here's a pic of the crib (without the mattress or bedding).
We're planning to get a crib mattress today. I'm hoping the BX on base has one so I don't have to pay tax! If not, we will probably check or Target or Walmart (but I'm not sure if Andrew will let me go do that today or not...I'll keep my fingers crossed though).
We received our first "completion coupon" for one of our baby registries yesterday so that means we're getting close close close to our due date!!! That would be the Target one. I selected like 3 mattresses and put them on the registry so that when I go if they only have a certain one I can still use the coupon! Sneaky, huh? Or maybe not..I don't know. I did the same for our Babies R Us registry (which we haven't received our completion coupon for, but should be coming soon). Unfortunately it seemed like they had so many mattresses at the store yet online about 85% of them were "online only". Weird. I also thought most crib mattresses would be the same size, but I decided to wait to purchase JUST IN CASE they aren't...and surprise...they aren't! For our crib the mattress must be AT LEAST 27 1/4 inches wide, 51 5/8 inches long, and no more than 6 inches deep. I also took it upon myself to measure the inside to see what the maximum size could be and realized the inside is 28x52 for width and length. Depth doesn't matter quite as much since we'll be adjusting the mattress spring thing to a lower level then its at now.
Also today I'd like to show you what is currently my favorite pregnancy helper. Its for heartburn, but let's face it...these ones are DELICIOUS! So much better than the actual Tums. These actually taste good...like candy...this could be a bad thing...
AND last but certainly not least, I wanted to show you the progress I made on the rug as of Tuesday of this past week. I've done a little bit more since this pic, but the section isn't completed so no pic yet!
Hope everyone has been having a great weekend! Mine was superb so far! Man, I haven't used the word superb for years...actually I don't know if I've ever said that before...whatever.
