39 Weeks
How Far Along: 39 Weeks! Can you believe it? I can't. I'm only a week away from my due date. Crazy!
How Big is Baby: Our little pumpkin should be a little over 7 pounds and roughly 20 inches long. They compare that to a watermelon! A watermelon!? Coming out down there!? Eeks.
Weight Gain/Loss: +1.4 pounds this week. I suppose that makes up for the smaller .4 pound increase last week. I have noticed my belly has gotten bigger/tighter this week! After measuring it appears I've gained 1/2 an inch in my abdomen! That's 10.25 inches total so far.
Symptoms: I've been having quite a few Braxton Hicks contractions, and actually in the evenings I get them a bit more frequently (or maybe I just notice them more when I'm laying down...not sure). I've also been getting some menstrual like cramping on and off which I THINK are helping me progress. Only the doctor will be able to tell me that one though. I've had a bit more pelvic and lower back pain, but I've been able to walk. I'm starting to waddle more so I know her head is lower. I'm still having gallbladder pain (daily) and trying to deal with it. Lastly, the swelling in my feet has gone up and down. I think my long walks with Megan have actually been helping with the swelling because lately the swelling hasn't been AS bad by the end of the day as it was at the beginning of last week.
Cravings/Aversions: Fruit and various random things. If I eat something and it tastes good I basically crave it again the rest of the day.
Movement: Always a good sign when the baby is moving a lot. Ava has hours where she is so active I just can't even think straight! This morning was especially cute though. Andrew's alarm went off and Ava immediately started moving. It was like she was dancing to the music. When it stopped, she stopped. She probably just wanted to say bye to her daddy when he left for work. :)
Gender: GIRL
Belly Button: Well people, the time has come! My belly button is more OUT than in, but still relatively flat in certain positions. It looks really funny to me.
Sleep: Hmm. Well last night I fell asleep early and quickly, but I still woke up every 3 hours to pee. Nothing new.
What I'm Looking Forward To: My next appointment! AND labor! Of course, I'm also somewhat nervous for labor, but I think the excitement outweighs the nervousness.
What I Miss: Right now I just miss being able to roll over in bed comfortably. I seriously breathe so heavily when trying to turn from one side to the other. Andrew makes fun of me. Its difficult though!
Highlights This Past Week: All the walks and talks with Megan are a huge highlight. I feel like I have a social life now that I have a new friend. Its making Arkansas much more enjoyable. My last appointment was also a big highlight because I had progressed! Woohoo! Lastly, along with this progression I'm certain I lost either part of or all of my "plug" on Friday. That of course means labor IS coming at some point! I can be hopeful!

The walking will definitely help the swelling because it will increase your circulation. And menstrual like cramps = good news! That means you're getting ready! You'll be in my prayers over the next few days. I cannot wait to hear of Ava's arrival.
