Random Question

When you eat colorful candy, (ex. M&Ms, Skittles, Starbursts, etc) how do you decide what order to eat the pieces in? Do you group them by color and eat certain colors first or last? Do you eat the colors based on what there is more of so that in the end there is 2 of each color and then 1 of each color, etc? Do you eat your least favorite colors first? Are there colors you won't eat?

The reason this popped up in my mind is because I was just eating one of my favorite snacks, frozen mixed fruit microwaved for 30-45 seconds so its still slightly frozen, but not hard to eat. I was picking through them I noticed that I always eat the grapes first because in this brand they don't seem to hold their flavor as well, followed by the peaches, strawberries, melons, and pineapple based on how many were left so that in the end I had one of each. I realized I do this exact same thing with candy. Its kind of like my OCD about the tv volume having to be on even numbers or multiples of 5...

I know I'm not the only one.

  1. i ate skittles today and did my usual routine. if there are 5 red, 4 green, 4 yellow, and 3 orange, i will eat all but 3 of every color (because orange only has 3), in no particular order. then once i have 3 of all of them, i'll eat them one at a time until i have 2 of each. then one of each. and i usually leave green for last, it's my fave.

  3. Too funny. I eat them randomly because I don't dump them out of the bag. I eat them slowly, one by one. That way I can lie to myself and pretend like I just ate a couple instead of a whole bag.

  4. When I eat certain foods (fruit salad, M&M's, trail mix), I do sort them by color/flavor. I Then I eat all of one flavor/color first. With trail mix - it's the sunflower seeds, then raisins, then peanuts, then banana chips and the chocolate chips or M&Ms get saved for last.

  5. I always end up eating things in the order of least favorite flavor to most favorite :-) Lately I've been on a chex-mix kick, so I'll sit there and pick out each piece, lol!
